On the bench

I am currently finishing my work on a 41 cm viola based on an Antonio and Girolamo Amati model (Cremona, ca. 1620) commissioned by a young and highly talented musician.

What fascinates about making this model is the challenge of recreating the perfect balance between the harmonious lightness of its shape, contours, scroll and f holes and its bold personality.
